We have served as a reliable, comprehensive tutoring source for more than 15 years, working with a wide range of students, including those with learning challenges. We meticulously match students to tutors, guaranteeing the best fit for learning style and personality. And to make the tutoring experience as convenient as possible, we come to you! Our tutors work directly from your child’s school curriculum and use supplemental materials for reinforcement and enrichment. You will enjoy a dedicated tutor who gives your child one-on-one attention and, if necessary, will even liaise with your child’s teacher.
What is the difference between working with ActiveMinds vs. a private tutor?

We streamline the vetting process and minimize the steps required of parents, meaning less hassle for you! Our thorough intake and student-tutor match approach saves you time. Once you partner with ActiveMinds, you have an entire tutoring network available for all your child’s future needs. Not to mention, our costs are comparable to working with a private tutor—sometimes, we’re even less!
What is your vetting process?

Our tutors are required to pass a multi-step interview process and undergo background screening.
How frequently do your tutors meet with students, and how long is each session?"

We normally work with students weekly for a minimum of one hour for content support and 1.5 hours for test prep support. Please note, we do not usually undertake as-needed tutoring.
When are your tutors available?

We offer very flexible schedules, with tutoring sessions available after school, evenings, and even weekends. All of our tutors provide both in-home and online tutoring options. They meet when and how it is most convenient for you.
How much do you charge?

Is there a contract?

Clients must sign a tutoring expectations agreement outlining what we expect of them and what they can expect of ActiveMinds and our tutors. However, we do not require long-term contracts forcing clients to commit to a number of lessons or length of time.
How has your business adapted to Covid-19?

We have expanded our offerings to include more online support and now have a large, diverse network of tutors who provide online tutoring. For in-person tutoring, the protocol followed is determined on a family-by-family basis depending on the vaccination status and safety conditions required by all parties.
