How It Works

Step 1: Discovery & Consultation

Once you complete our discovery form, we will email you to schedule a time for your initial 30-minute consultation with founder Deborah Brooks. She will discuss your child’s academic profile and needs, challenges, learning style, personality, and goals. She’ll also explain our process and tell you about our talented tutors.

Step 2: Assessment & Match

Next, Deborah will carefully review and analyze this information to identify the best tutor match for your student. She will tell you about your child’s assigned tutor, including their background and teaching approach, then make the introduction and schedule the first lesson.

Step 3: Tutoring Time

Each tutor customizes their lesson plan and teaching style to follow your child’s school curriculum and unique learning profile. We meet students at their current level, assisting with homework and much more to help them meet their academic goals and build confidence.

Step 4: Stay in the Loop

We maintain open communication with you throughout the entire process to ensure we are meeting everyone’s expectations. Your tutor will keep you informed with regular updates on how your child is progressing in certain subject areas or skills.

ActiveMinds Tutoring has provided personalized in-home and online tutoring to families throughout Greater Boston for over 15 years. During that time, Founder and Executive Director Deborah Brooks has developed a vast network of loyal tutors and built relationships with many public and private schools.

 

With a background in business and sales, Deborah understands (perhaps more than most) the importance of customer service and knowing how to match people to their ideal solutions. Educating and guiding others has always been in Deborah’s nature, which is why ActiveMinds was the logical next phase in her career.
